Three brothers convicted of sex trafficking in New York were each sentenced to 30 years in federal prison on Tuesday 27 October 2026, after a five-week trial earlier this year in which more than a dozen women testified.

US District Judge Valerie Caproni imposed the sentences on Tal Alexander, 40, and his twin brothers Oren and Alon Alexander, both 39, in Manhattan federal court. The brothers were convicted in March 2026 on charges including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and other federal sex offences. Prosecutors had sought life sentences, while defence lawyers asked for the mandatory minimum of 15 years.

Victims confronted the brothers in court

At the sentencing hearing, women who said they had been drugged and sexually assaulted by the brothers addressed the court, describing lasting harm. Judge Caproni told the brothers their conduct was monstrous, and said she did not want them housed in the same prison because they were a bad influence on one another. The brothers continued to deny criminal wrongdoing when they addressed the court.

From luxury property to prison

Tal and Oren Alexander were formerly prominent luxury real estate brokers, while Alon worked in the family's security business. Prosecutors said the men used their wealth, luxury properties and travel to target women over more than a decade. The 30-year terms are per defendant, not combined, and written judgments and any appeal filings will follow.
