Anthropic files for IPO as tech shares rally

Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering on Nasdaq, according to its S-1 filing, in a week when technology shares rallied.
On Monday the S&P 500 closed at 7,676.77, up 0.70%, the Nasdaq at 26,169.38, up 0.82%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 52,361.58, up 0.28%, according to the NordFX market pulse. Futures were higher on Tuesday morning.
Filing cited as a market driver
Investopedia and NordFX cited the Anthropic filing as a driver of sentiment. It was not the only factor behind the gains, however, and should not be read as the sole cause of the rally.
No IPO price, valuation or listing date was given in the sources reporting the filing. The filing marks the start of the public-offering process rather than its conclusion, and further details will emerge as the process advances. An S-1 is the registration document a company files with US regulators ahead of a public listing, setting out its business, finances and risk factors, and investors will watch for the pricing and listing timetable as the process moves forward.
Benchmarks higher into Tuesday
The rally left all three major US benchmarks higher into Tuesday, with investors watching for further corporate and economic news through the rest of the week.
