Four goals in the third period turn the game

The Boston Bruins scored four goals in the third period, including three straight in a span of 3 minutes and 33 seconds, and ran their point streak to eight games by rallying for a 6-4 win against the San Jose Sharks at TD Garden on Saturday 24 October 2026. Boston, now 9-2-1, are 7-0-1 in their past eight games.

David Pastrnak scored to tie Patrice Bergeron for third on Boston's all-time goals list, with 427 goals. James Hagens, Casey Mittelstadt and Fraser Minten each had a goal and an assist for the Bruins. Elias Lindholm and JJ Peterka each had two assists, and Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves in goal.

Composure under pressure

Boston captain Pastrnak said the team was down by a goal in the third period before retaking the lead and staying calm. He said that even after taking two penalties, the group stayed composed and ended up getting the lead before the end, adding that it was impressive how mature the group could be at certain stages.

Pastrnak also acknowledged that Boston were far from their best, but said it was hard to win in the league and that the team would take the two points while knowing they could be much better. That balance between relief and self-criticism captures a team on a strong run that still sees room to improve.

Sharks end a long road trip

Michael Misa, Kiefer Sherwood, Dmitry Orlov and Will Smith scored for the Sharks, who are now 6-5-1 and concluded a six-game road trip with a 3-2-1 record. Jacob Trouba had two assists, and Alex Nedeljkovic made 29 saves.
