Norwich City continued their rampant away form on Saturday, thrashing Bristol City 5-0 at Ashton Gate to make it nine goals from successive away victories in the Championship.

Paris Maghoma opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, picking up the ball 40 yards out and running forward unchallenged before placing a low right-footed shot past Brad Collins. The Canaries led by a single goal at the break, but a second-half blitz settled the contest.

Harry Darling looped in a header in the 53rd minute after Jason Knight's mistimed header inside his own penalty area, and three minutes later Andre Brooks fired home a third from Maghoma's low cross. Substitute Jovon Makama, celebrating his England Under-21 call-up on Friday, converted an Anthony Musaba centre after 70 minutes, before Mathias Kvistgaarden won and slotted an 80th-minute penalty to complete the rout.

The result made it four wins out of four for Norwich going into the international break, following on from the 4-0 midweek thrashing of Derby on their previous away trip. Head coach Philippe Clement described his team as growing by the week, saying the best thing of all was seeing the joy across the whole squad after the game, even among the players who had not been involved.

For Bristol City, it was a miserable afternoon in front of 20,758 supporters at Ashton Gate. Home fans turned on head coach Michael Skubala, chanting "You're getting sacked in the morning" as his team slid to a fifth home league defeat of the season.

Skubala's side had made two changes from the midweek home defeat by Wolves, bringing in Rob Dickie and Adam Randell, but they were second best throughout. Norwich, by contrast, were assured and economical, and they head into the international break full of confidence.
