Building Safety Regulator seeks members for advisory committee

The Building Safety Regulator (BSR) is recruiting members for its Building Advisory Committee, a statutory advisory committee established under the Building Safety Act 2022 that gives the regulator practical, independent advice on its building functions. Applications close at midday on Monday 23 November 2026, so the deadline is still open.
Roles on offer
Roles sought include an academic in the built environment, an accessibility and inclusive design practitioner, a building contractor, a building services engineer, a construction industry practitioner for the supply chain, a fire safety specialist, a local authority housing provider, a private sector higher-risk buildings representative, private and public sector registered building inspectors, a risk management professional and a structural safety specialist. Applicants may apply for multiple roles, with a separate application per role, but will be appointed to only one.
How to apply
Applications are made online via Citizen Space, with a CV in PDF format of no more than three pages plus a suitability statement of no more than 750 words. Applications can also be sent by email to buildingadvisory.appointments@buildingsafety.gov.uk or by post to the Building Safety Regulator at Redgrave Court, Merton Road, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 7HS. Interviews are due from 11 January 2027, remotely on Microsoft Teams, lasting about 45 minutes. These are voluntary committee roles with expenses covered, not salaried vacancies, and no payment is asked of applicants. Roles are not open to applicants who will require sponsorship to work in the UK.
