Flávio Bolsonaro arrives in Miami after leaving Brazil

Brazilian senator Flávio Bolsonaro arrived in Miami on Wednesday 28 October after leaving Brazil following his defeat in Sunday's presidential election runoff to incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. His arrival, shown in Reuters television images, came after he failed to comply with a Supreme Court order to hand over his passports, and after the United States said it would issue entry visas to him and his family.
A journey via Argentina and Ecuador
Argentina's migration department said Bolsonaro entered Argentina with his wife and two daughters late on Tuesday evening through the Tancredo Neves International Bridge, then boarded a private flight bound for the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil. Flight-tracking data cited by Reuters showed a Gulfstream aircraft operated by Baires Fly departing Puerto Iguazú at 12:22 a.m. and landing in Guayaquil at 3:46 a.m., before heading on to Miami's Opa-locka Executive Airport, where it was scheduled to land at 9:18 a.m. local time. The United States State Department had said on 27 October that it would issue visas to Bolsonaro and his family and allow them to enter the United States, and President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he approved of Bolsonaro coming to the United States.
What remains disputed
Bolsonaro lost Sunday's runoff after being favoured in earlier polling, and he has yet to concede, saying he would seek annulment of the result over alleged voting irregularities. He denies wrongdoing in the money-laundering investigation behind the passport order, and Brazil's Supreme Court said on Wednesday that no search warrant had been issued against him, after a news report suggested otherwise. His Liberal Party has acknowledged Lula's victory, even as Bolsonaro himself has not.
