Hibernian came from behind to beat Hearts 2-1 in the Premier Sports Cup semi-final at Hampden Park, booking a final against Rangers on 13 December. It was a first win for new Hibs head coach Marink Reedijk at the fifth attempt, and gives him the chance to steer the club to a first trophy since 2016.

Braga opener, Boyle leveller

Hearts struck first in the fourth minute when Claudio Braga headed in a Calvin Miller corner from four yards out. Hibs levelled in the 19th minute through returning striker Martin Boyle, whose drive went in off a post after a lobbed pass from Owen Elding and survived a VAR check for offside.

McGrath wins it before the break

Jamie McGrath put Hibs ahead three minutes before half-time, steering in the loose ball at the near post after Joe Newell's powerful drive was saved. Hearts pressed hard after the break and Braga headed wide twice late on, but a stout Hibs defensive display held firm. Hearts had won the four previous Edinburgh derbies at Hampden, in 2006, 2012, 2020 and 2022, but this was Hibs' day. Rangers beat Aberdeen 1-0 in the other semi-final to complete the final pairing.
