IonQ Shares Jump 23% on Record Revenue, Raised Outlook

IonQ shares jumped more than 23 per cent on Friday after the quantum computing company reported record quarterly revenue and raised its full-year sales outlook above $500 million.
The shares closed at $32.62 on Friday 6 November, up 23.42 per cent from Thursday's close of $26.43, according to Yahoo Finance data cited by FinanceFeeds. The rebound followed a near-12 per cent slide over the previous two sessions.
IonQ reported third-quarter revenue of $173.8 million, up 336 per cent from a year earlier and well ahead of analyst expectations of about $141 million to $143 million. It was the company's sixth consecutive record quarter, FinanceFeeds reported. Revenue from its IonQ Platform business rose 127 per cent to $90.3 million, while its SkyWater foundry services added $83.5 million.
The company posted an adjusted loss of 29 cents a share, narrower than the 30 cents analysts had expected, according to Zacks. On a GAAP basis it reported net income of $564 million, or $1.42 a share, but that figure reflects a non-cash gain from the revaluation of warrants rather than operating profit.
Management raised its 2026 revenue guidance to between $505 million and $515 million, up from $450 million to $460 million, and said it expects quantum computing revenue alone to grow about 110 per cent this year. Total contracted backlog reached $1.2 billion.
Analysts were more cautious than the share price suggested. Needham cut its price target to $48 from $65 while keeping a Buy rating, and Wedbush trimmed its target to $50 from $75, according to MarketBeat and Benzinga. Both firms kept positive ratings, but the cuts underline how far the stock has already fallen this year.
