Jobe Bellingham Earns First England Call-Up as Palmer and Foden Left Out

Jobe Bellingham has earned his first senior England call-up, joining his brother Jude in Thomas Tuchel's 25-man squad for this month's Nations League matches against Croatia and Spain.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder was named on Friday 6 November alongside Fulham's Josh King, with both players stepping up from the under-21 squad. King had already travelled with the senior side to a pre-World Cup training camp in Florida in the summer.

Tuchel's biggest calls came among the players left out. Cole Palmer and Phil Foden were both omitted despite being fit, and Kobbie Mainoo also misses out. Palmer, who withdrew from the last camp through injury, has been overlooked again even after an encouraging start to the season at Chelsea.

Kane closes in on a record

Captain Harry Kane could become England's most-capped men's player if he features in either game, after equalling Peter Shilton's record of 125 caps during the last international window in September and October.

There are returns for Ben White, back in the squad for the first time since March after missing the World Cup through injury, and for Djed Spence and Declan Rice, who both missed the last camp through injury.

England host Croatia at Wembley on Thursday 12 November at 7.45pm, before travelling to Madrid to face Spain on Sunday 15 November. England sit second in Group C and know that avoiding defeat against Croatia will be enough to secure a place in the Nations League quarter-finals next March. To finish top of the group they would need to win both games and finish with a better goal difference than Spain.
