McKesson Raises Profit Outlook on $111bn Revenue

McKesson has raised its full-year profit outlook after reporting higher second-quarter revenue and earnings, supported by prescription volumes, specialty drug distribution and demand for medication access services.
The healthcare distribution company announced the results on Wednesday 4 November for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. Consolidated revenue rose 8% from a year earlier to $111.0 billion, driven by growth in its North American Pharmaceutical and Oncology and Multispecialty segments.
Adjusted earnings per diluted share increased 18% to $11.68, up from $9.86 a year earlier. Earnings per diluted share on a GAAP basis rose to $10.44 from $8.92 in the same quarter last year.
McKesson now expects adjusted earnings of $45.60 to $46.40 per diluted share for fiscal 2027, up from its previous forecast of $44.20 to $45.00. The revised range implies growth of 17% to 19% from fiscal 2026.
The company also lifted its revenue growth forecast to 6% to 10%, from 5% to 9%, and now expects operating profit growth of 12% to 16%. It expects free cash flow of $4.5 billion to $4.9 billion for the year.
North American Pharmaceutical revenue increased 6% to $91.4 billion, while operating profit in the segment rose 22% to $1 billion. Chief Financial Officer Kenny Cheung said the segment benefited from higher prescription volumes, including specialty products and GLP-1 medications.
McKesson also completed its acquisition of Precision Medicine Group for approximately $2.25 billion in cash during the quarter. The diluted weighted average share count fell 6% to 116.7 million, reflecting share repurchases.
