Pakistan petrol at Rs379.25 from 27 October 2026

Pakistan's federal government has raised petrol and diesel prices with effect from Tuesday, 27 October 2026, under a notification issued by the Petroleum Division on Monday. Petrol rises by Rs1.54 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs2.16 per litre, taking petrol to Rs379.25 and diesel to Rs395.82. The change ends a brief pause for petrol, which had been held unchanged in the previous revision, while diesel rises for a third consecutive revision.
New prices in full
Before the revision, petrol stood at Rs377.71 per litre and diesel at Rs393.66. PakWheels' report of the notification puts diesel's rise since 22 October at Rs5.71 across three revisions, from Rs390.11 to Rs395.82. The Petroleum Division attributed the latest move to global developments, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and associated costs. Pakistan now reviews fuel prices daily, a system introduced in July 2026 to replace weekly reviews as international oil markets became more volatile.
Austerity measures return
Alongside the price change, reporting of the notification says the government has revived conservation measures. Commercial markets are to close by 9pm, and fuel allocations for official vehicles have been cut by 50 per cent for an initial three months. The measures are presented as a response to turbulence in global energy markets and high domestic fuel costs linked to the Middle East conflict.
What it means for households
Petrol affects daily travel for motorcyclists and car owners, while diesel feeds into freight, public transport and farm machinery costs, so the diesel rise in particular can filter into the price of goods and services. No new relief scheme was announced in the notification reported on Monday, and motorists will pay the revised rates from 27 October.
