An adjournment motion has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly seeking details of the expenses of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's visit to London in September 2026, including the use of the official aircraft and the salaries of its foreign pilots. Opposition member Waqas Mahmood submitted the motion to the Assembly Secretariat.

The motion says Rs27,194,004 was deposited on 17 September 2026 towards the travel expenses. According to the motion, the deposit was made through a Bank of Punjab cheque in the name of Umar Abbas, into the Punjab government treasury account at the National Bank of Pakistan's Valencia Branch in Lahore. It asks which account the money came from and who holds it, and whether the chief minister could afford the trip from her declared income.

The motion also refers to the aircraft's two foreign pilots, whose combined monthly salaries are about $70,000, according to media investigations cited in the reports. It demands that details of the government aircraft's use and the travel costs be presented in the House.

Maryam Nawaz travelled to London in early September to attend her daughter Mahnoor Safdar's graduation and returned to Lahore on 9 September. The provincial government has said she used the official Gulfstream G500 aircraft, reportedly valued at between Rs9 billion and Rs11 billion, but paid the expenses herself. Maryam Nawaz has said she paid about Rs27.5 million for the journey, and Information Minister Azma Bokhari has said the visit was financed from her personal funds. The motion seeks clarification; it does not itself establish any wrongdoing.
