Punjab will release a smart syllabus for students of Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12 on Saturday, 7 November, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced. The Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) will publish the details for all four classes as part of the announcement.

The minister said preparations for the syllabus were in their final stages, with officials completing the remaining work before the release. The smart syllabus will cover secondary students in Classes 9 and 10 as well as higher secondary students in Classes 11 and 12, all of whom are preparing for next year's board examinations.

The smart syllabus, also known as the Accelerated Learning Programme, is a shortened version of the regular curriculum. It identifies deleted topics, selected exercise questions, examination pairing schemes and model papers, so that students can focus their preparation on the material that will actually be examined.

The expansion to all four grades is significant because board examinations play a decisive role in students' academic futures, and the syllabus gives them a clear, official guide to what they need to study. Previous smart syllabus documents have covered individual grades, but this release brings Classes 9 to 12 together under one announcement.

Students and parents should look for the official details on PECTAA's channels once they are published, rather than relying on forwarded messages or unofficial lists circulating online. The authority is the only official source for the syllabus documents, and the release is aimed at giving every student in Punjab's public and private schools the same preparation material ahead of the 2027 annual examinations.
