Raiwind Ijtema First Phase Ends With Closing Prayer

By The Daily Byte ·08 Nov 2026 ·2 min read
Worshippers gathered for prayer at Raiwind

The first phase of the annual Raiwind Tablighi Ijtema concludes in Lahore today, Sunday 8 November, with the closing prayer that traditionally draws the largest crowds of the gathering.

The congregation is being held in two phases this year. The first phase runs from 5 to 8 November, and the second phase is scheduled for 12 to 15 November, with its own concluding prayer on 15 November. The gathering is one of the largest Muslim congregations in the world, drawing hundreds of thousands of worshippers from across Pakistan and abroad, and has been split into two phases since 2011 to manage the crowds.

Lahore Traffic Police issued a comprehensive traffic plan for the first phase, designating seven entry routes for participants, including Raiwind Road, Sunder Road and Manga Road, and setting up 10 diversion points to manage congestion around the venue. Special parking facilities were arranged at different locations, and 15 vehicle lifters and nine breakdown vehicles remained on duty to deal with disruptions.

Participants travelling from Gujranwala via GT Road were directed to reach Raiwind through the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange using the motorway, while those coming from Okara were routed through the NFC Interchange, the Lahore Ring Road and Rai Road. Police said live traffic updates would be shared through Rasta FM, the Rasta mobile app and social media.

Final road arrangements for today's concluding prayer were confirmed on 7 November, with major roads around the venue closed or diverted for the day.
