Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an Associate People Business Partner, with applications closing on 13 November 2026. The role can be based in Exeter or Barnstaple, and hybrid working is available, usually with one or two days a week on site.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced People Business Partners across Clinical Specialist Services, Corporate Services and Estates and Facilities. The work includes advising managers on a wide range of people issues, using workforce data to inform decisions, and supporting recruitment, retention, organisational change and workforce redesign.

Who can apply

Previous NHS experience is not required. The trust says it welcomes relevant experience from other complex organisations, and applicants should be able to show experience of advising senior managers, workforce planning, employee engagement and partnership working with trade unions or employee representatives.

Applicants need a relevant degree or equivalent demonstrable experience, plus graduate CIPD membership at postgraduate or Level 7, or equivalent specialist People knowledge gained through experience. Sound knowledge of employment and equality legislation is also required.

Working pattern and how to apply

The post is available full-time at 37.5 hours a week, or as a job share of one three-day post and one two-day post. Applicants should state their preferred pattern in their application. The role requires travel between Royal Devon sites when needed.
