Five killed as Russia hits Ukrainian logistics hub and Ukraine strikes Russian regions

Five people were reported killed in Russia on Sunday as the war's overnight exchange of strikes continued, with Moscow saying it had hit Ukrainian logistics infrastructure and a cargo vessel heading for the Black Sea port of Chornomorsk. The reports, carried by AnewZ and by Fana News citing Qatar News Agency, cover attacks on both sides of the front.
What Moscow reported
Russia's Defence Ministry said its overnight operations targeted Ukrainian logistics infrastructure, including the Epicentr logistics centre, a distribution centre and the Vasyshchevo logistics terminal in the Kharkiv region. It alleged the facilities were used to store military or dual-use goods for Ukraine's armed forces, and that a cargo vessel travelling towards Chornomorsk was carrying supplies for those forces. Reuters, as cited in the reporting, said it could not independently verify those claims.
The ministry also said Russian air defences had intercepted and destroyed 532 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones across 25 Russian regions overnight, a figure that has not been independently verified.
What was reported in Russia and Ukraine
In Belgorod, in western Russia, a Ukrainian drone attack was reported to have killed one person and injured ten, according to the region's operational headquarters cited by Sputnik. In Ukraine's Kharkiv, a Russian drone strike was reported to have killed one person and wounded three, according to Ukrinform. AnewZ's account put the total reported dead in Russia's Belgorod and Bryansk regions at five.
The overnight exchange underlines a pattern that has held for months: long-range strikes on logistics, energy and residential areas on both sides, with casualty and damage claims that are difficult to verify independently while fighting continues. It also brings Black Sea shipping back into focus, because any strike on a cargo vessel raises questions about the safety of commercial routes even when the cargo claim itself remains unverified.
