Tokyo Metro Launches 28-Hour Weekend Ticket for ¥700

Tokyo Metro has begun selling a new weekend travel ticket for visitors and residents exploring the Japanese capital, with the limited-period 28-Hour Ticket going on sale on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
Priced at 700 yen for adults and 350 yen for children, the digital QR-code ticket provides unlimited rides across all nine Tokyo Metro lines for 28 consecutive hours from first use. It is available on selected Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays until 20 December.
The ticket costs the same as Tokyo Metro's regular 24-hour ticket but gives passengers four extra hours of travel, making it suited to weekend trips that stretch from Saturday into Sunday evening.
Tokyo Metro announced the promotion on 29 October as part of its expansion of QR-code ticketing services. The ticket is sold only through the operator's designated online sales website and is used by scanning a QR code on a smartphone at the ticket gate.
Sales open at 4am on the first day of each eligible weekend and close at 3pm on the final day, with no advance sales. Passengers must make their first entry through a gate by 11.59pm on the final day of the weekend, or the ticket becomes invalid.
Eligible weekends in November are 7-8, 14-15, 21-23 and 28-29 November, with the 21-23 period extended because Monday 23 November is a Japanese public holiday. Further weekends follow in December, ending on 20 December.
The ticket covers Tokyo Metro's nine lines only. It does not include JR East, Toei Subway or other railway operators, and it cannot be bought from station ticket machines. Some stations do not have compatible QR-code readers, so passengers need to follow additional procedures at those stations.
