Zelenskyy Warns Russia Is Preparing New Strikes on Ukraine's Energy Grid and Dnipro Bridges

Warning of a fresh wave of attacks
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned on Friday that Russia is preparing a new wave of strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure, bridges across the Dnipro River and other civilian targets. He said intelligence showed an attack was being prepared and that defences were being readied.
"We have intelligence at this time that Russia is preparing new strikes on energy, on bridges across the Dnipro, on civilian infrastructure," Zelenskyy said. He renewed his appeal for more Patriot interceptor missiles, telling partners that every delivery agreement mattered and that delays cost lives.
Kyiv already in darkness
The warning comes as Kyiv endures its hardest winter of the war so far. Weeks of attacks on power stations have left the capital of more than three million people facing long emergency blackouts, with water supplies failing and trams halted.
Ukraine's two main road bridges across the Dnipro have also come under fire for the first time in the war. Russian drones have repeatedly hit the South Bridge since 1 October, striking it again on 27 October. On the night of 2–3 November, Russia hit energy facilities more than 20 times in 24 hours.
Blame traded at home
Zelenskyy and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko traded fresh accusations on Friday over preparations for the winter campaign. The president blamed failures by the city administration to implement heating-season decisions.
The prime minister said Russia was launching 300 to 400 drones a day at critical infrastructure. Zelenskyy also confirmed Ukraine will keep striking Russian oil refineries in retaliation. The warning lands days before US-mediated talks between Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi, scheduled for 10–11 November.
