Accrington Market is looking for three apprentice crew members to join its team, with applications closing at 11.59pm on 12 November 2026.

The three full-time posts are offered by Hyndburn Borough Council, which runs the market, and are advertised on the government's Find an apprenticeship service under reference VAC2000061504. The vacancy was posted on 28 October, and the roles were reported by Lancashire Business View on 2 November as the market looks to develop future talent.

What the apprenticeship involves

The successful applicants will train as Level 2 food and beverage team members through North Lancs Training Group, working 37 hours a week at the market as it prepares to reopen in late November.

Apprentices will learn on the job at the market while training with North Lancs Training Group, gaining the skills needed to work in a food and beverage team and to serve the market's traders and shoppers.

Pay and benefits

The posts pay £27,128.40 a year for the 37-hour week, the foundation living wage rate. The package also includes 25 days' holiday, a pension, staff discounts and reduced leisure membership.

The market is due to reopen in late November, and the three apprentices will join the team as it welcomes traders and shoppers back.

How to apply

Applications must be made through the official GOV.UK Find an apprenticeship service, where the vacancy lists the full description, entry requirements and training details. The closing date is 12 November 2026 at 11.59pm, so applicants should not leave it to the last day.
