Afghanistan won their maiden Hong Kong Sixes title on Sunday 1 November, defeating Australia by four wickets in the Cup final at Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok. Afghanistan became only the eighth country to lift the trophy, completing an unbeaten run through the three-day tournament.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, posting 115 for 4 in their allotted six overs. Max Bryant was the top scorer for Australia with 44 runs off 14 balls, while Nick Hobson added 23 off eight deliveries. Chasing 116, Afghanistan reached 119 for 2 in just 5.1 overs, with Imran Mir unbeaten on 53 off 14 balls and Farmanullah Safi providing late fireworks to finish the chase with five balls to spare.

An unbeaten run to the title

Afghanistan's route to the final began with a three-wicket victory over South Africa in their Group A opener, chasing 108, followed by a four-wicket win against Oman. In the semi-finals they posted 121 against Scotland before restricting them to 100. Captain Gulbadin Naib had earlier struck an unbeaten 51 off 16 balls in the semi-final win over Scotland.

Pakistan take the Plate title

Elsewhere on finals day, Pakistan claimed the Plate title after defeating Oman by 18 runs. Captain Abbas Afridi led the way with 73 off 16 balls, including one boundary and 11 sixes, as Pakistan posted 154 for 4; Oman managed 136 for 4 in reply. South Africa won the Bowl Division title, while Scotland finished third in the Cup Division.
