BBC Apprenticeships Open for 2026 With Applications Closing on 24 November

The BBC has opened applications for its 2026 apprenticeships, offering paid training places across journalism, production, engineering, business and technology. Applications are now open and the general window closes on 24 November, although some schemes may close earlier, so applicants should check the closing date on each advert.
What is on offer
The apprenticeships cover five broad areas: journalism, production, business, engineering and operations, and digital technology and data. The schemes start in September 2027 and are based at BBC locations across the United Kingdom. The BBC takes on around 200 apprentices a year, according to a summary of the scheme, and apprentices work towards a recognised qualification, with some schemes leading to a full bachelor's degree.
Who can apply
Applicants must be at least 18 years old by September 2027 and must have the right to work full-time in the United Kingdom. They will normally need to have lived in the UK continuously for at least three years before the start date, and the BBC does not sponsor visas for apprenticeships. Applicants should generally not already hold a qualification at the same or a higher level in the same subject area.
How to apply
There is no CV or cover letter to submit. Candidates apply through the BBC's early careers website, where they choose a scheme and follow the instructions for that opportunity. The BBC says applicants should apply early and allow enough time to complete each part of the application.
A route into broadcasting
The apprenticeships are one of the BBC's main routes for bringing new starters into broadcasting, production and technology roles without requiring a university degree first.
