Bed Bath & Beyond Reopens With First Standalone Store

Bed Bath & Beyond has opened its first standalone store since the retailer's original owners filed for bankruptcy in 2023, marking the latest step in the brand's return to physical retail. The new shop opened on Saturday, 7 November, at 7580 W. Bell Road in Glendale, Arizona, according to parent company Neighborhood Intelligence.
The 19,000 sq ft store brings back the familiar Bed Bath & Beyond shopping experience, including the chain's well-known tower wall display and the return of its popular 20%-off coupons. Merchandised by room and occasion, it sells a wide range of home goods, from storage and organisation to home decor, combining the products and brands long associated with Bed Bath & Beyond with The Container Store's expertise in organisation.
The Glendale opening is distinct from the co-branded Bed Bath & Beyond and Container Store concept the company unveiled in June, after acquiring The Container Store earlier this year. Neighborhood Intelligence, the newly named parent company of Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, BuyBuy Baby and Kirkland's, plans to open further standalone Bed Bath & Beyond stores in Minnesota, Florida and Mississippi in 2027.
"Bed Bath & Beyond is a brand that generations of customers have welcomed into their homes, and we're excited to bring it back to their neighborhoods," said Amy Sullivan, president of Neighborhood Intelligence. She described Glendale as an important milestone and said the company was "just getting started".
At the same time as it expands, the group is closing underperforming shops from its acquisitions. Chief executive Marcus Lemonis told analysts the company is closing 39 Kirkland's stores and will have closed 11 Container Store locations by the end of the year.
