Brothers jailed 20 years for King's Cross knife attack

Two brothers have been jailed for a total of 20 years after a knife attack near King's Cross station in central London left a young man fighting for his life. Reece Williams, 30, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 12 years, while his brother Darrell Williams, 27, received eight years.
Police were called at around 5.40pm on Monday 15 September 2025 after a 27-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds on Beaconsfield Street, near King's Cross. He had suffered a number of knife wounds to his body and head and was left critically injured.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police launched an investigation and quickly identified the two brothers as suspects. Reece Williams, of Northdown Street in Islington, carried out the stabbing, while Darrell Williams, of Gloucester Drive in Hackney, acted as his getaway driver.
Reece Williams pleaded guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife at Wood Green Crown Court on 11 November 2025. Darrell Williams pleaded guilty to the same offences at the same court on 30 July 2026. Both men were sentenced on Wednesday 4 November.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur, whose team led the investigation, described the attack as violent and unprovoked. Officers gathered hundreds of hours of CCTV footage tracing the brothers from the scene of the attack to their escape, which helped to build the case against them.
The sentencing brings to a close a case that began with a fast-moving investigation after the victim was found seriously injured on a central London street last September.
