El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele has asked users on X for the exact location of a house in Haiti linked to a gang leader, saying his forces would destroy it once they had the address.

Bukele replied in Haitian Creole on Friday to a post showing a multi-storey house beside images of Haiti's ruined National Palace. "Kote kay sa a ye? Ban nou adrès egzak la, n ap detwi l," he wrote — "Where is this house? Give us the exact address, and we will destroy it."

Users replied with GPS coordinates, many of them near Thomazeau and Dimiso, east of the capital, Port-au-Prince. Local reporting has previously linked a similar compound in that area to Wilson Joseph, known as Lanmò San Jou, leader of the 400 Mawozo gang. No strike has been confirmed.

The post is the latest in Bukele's unusually public running commentary on El Salvador's military operation in Haiti. He has posted daily on X about the deployment, including video of Salvadoran forces patrolling the streets of Port-au-Prince and messages in Creole aimed at gang leaders and the Haitian public.

More than 2,000 Salvadoran troops are now in Haiti. Bukele ordered the deployment after four Salvadoran aviation technicians serving with the United Nations-backed Gang Suppression Force went missing following an ambush on 18 October near Port-au-Prince. Their burned vehicle was later recovered during a joint operation with Haitian police and UN peacekeepers.

Bukele has said the mission is not an invasion, that El Salvador is covering most of the cost, and that its aims are to recover the four missing men and weaken the gangs controlling large parts of the capital. The United States offers a $1 million reward for Joseph.
