Burnham 10-year plan may slip to January

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has said his ten-year plan for Britain will lay out a "very clear vision", while acknowledging that publication may slip from December into January. He was speaking to The Economist after the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Antigua.
"We may go into the new year, to be honest, there is that — December or January, I think we will need to leave that open, I don't think we've got a firm landing zone for it yet," Burnham said, according to the Press Association report of his remarks.
Burnham rejects the "slimmer document" reports
The New Statesman reported that voices inside government feared the plan could be another "kicking of the can", and that the document may be slimmer than first thought, opening a long public consultation rather than setting out a fully realised vision. Burnham disputed that reporting, calling the briefings inaccurate and saying: "But it's definitely not going to be what has been briefed this week."
He said people were underestimating the significance of the plan, which he has described as more important than the Budget and which is expected to inform next year's spending review. No publication date has been confirmed, and the contents of the plan have not yet been published.
