Dobey beats Morris 8-4 to claim third darts title of 2026

A dominant day in Den Bosch
Chris Dobey claimed his third ranking title of the 2026 darts season with an 8-4 victory over Tommy Morris in the Players Championship 32 final in Den Bosch on Thursday.
Dobey, known as Hollywood, averaged 103.15 across his seven matches on the day, registering the three highest averages of the afternoon on his way to the title.
Dobey opened with a win over Marvin Kraft, then averaged 108.65 in beating Owen Bates, before 6-2 wins over Mickey Mansell and Bradley Brooks took him into the quarter-finals. He then averaged 111.12 in a 6-1 win over Krzysztof Ratajski and 109.69 in a 7-4 semi-final victory over William O'Connor.
The day also featured a hat-trick of nine-dart finishes, from Tom Sykes against Cor Dekker, Bradley Brooks against Adam Gawlas and Wesley Plaisier against Damon Heta.
Morris's run ends in the final
Morris, who came through the Challenge Tour, reached his first PDC ranking final after beating Michael van Gerwen on his run, but Dobey raced into a 3-0 lead in the final and never trailed. Morris pulled a leg back late on, but Dobey sealed the match with a 12-darter.
Dobey said after the final that he had taken a brand-new set of darts out of the wrapper at home the day before travelling, and felt he had produced some good darts with them all day.
What the title means
The win moves Dobey into second place in the Players Championship Order of Merit, behind Wessel Nijman, with two events remaining in Leicester on 4 and 5 November. The top 64 players on that order qualify for the Players Championship Finals in Minehead at the end of November, and Morris's run has all but confirmed his place there.
