Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Healthcare Support Worker for its newly integrated Community Vaccination Service, with applications closing on 2 November 2026. The permanent post is part-time and term-time only, and is based at Kings Park Hospital in Bournemouth.

The role sits at Band 3, at £25,760 to £27,476 a year pro rata. The successful applicant will help deliver school-age vaccinations alongside Covid vaccination for housebound patients and care-home residents.

What the job involves day to day

Day-to-day work includes administering selected vaccines in schools, community clinics, care homes and patients' homes, collecting vaccines and equipment from vaccine bases, and supporting health promotion and community engagement around vaccination. The post also includes delegated administration tasks identified by the admin lead, such as running reports, liaising with schools and service users, and collecting data.

Applicants are expected to bring experience equivalent to a vocational level 3 qualification, strong communication skills, good IT skills and the ability to work on their own initiative while taking part in clinical supervision.
