Ethereum showed a stronger short-term recovery than Bitcoin on 1 November, as the wider cryptocurrency market steadied after a volatile week. Market data reported by KuCoin, citing Huo Xing Finance, put Ethereum at $2,273, up 1.28% in 24 hours, while Bitcoin traded at $77,816, up 0.51% over the same period. The ETH/BTC rate rose 0.79% to 0.02921.

A separate Binance-based recap on the same day gave slightly different levels, reflecting different exchanges and times: Bitcoin at $77,572.67, up 0.285% in 24 hours, and Ethereum at $2,255.13, up 0.451%. The difference underlines why price levels should be read as snapshots from a named source, not as a single global price.

A steadier total market, with mixed positioning

KuCoin reported total cryptocurrency market capitalisation rebounding to $2.705 trillion, up 0.2% in 24 hours, with 24-hour trading volume of $68.206 billion. Solana was reported lower in that snapshot, at around $95.48, while other large coins were mixed. Futures positioning told a more cautious story: TokenPost reported on 1 November that Ethereum's dollar-margin long account share fell 4.19 percentage points to 70%, even as its coin-margin measures edged higher, suggesting traders were not uniformly positioned for further gains.

What traders are watching next

With spot markets open over the weekend while traditional markets are closed, attention is turning to the US employment report due on 6 November, which is widely watched for clues on interest-rate expectations. That report, rather than any single day's price move, is likely to shape sentiment in the coming week. This is market reporting only, not financial advice.
