FC Seoul are league champions for the first time since 2016, after a 1–1 draw with Gangwon FC on Saturday sealed the title with matches still to play.

How the title was won

Moon Seon-min put hosts Seoul ahead in the 58th minute before Kang Joon-hyuck levelled six minutes later. The point was enough because nearest rivals Ulsan HD were held 2–2 by Pohang Steelers, leaving Seoul 16 points clear with five matches remaining. It is Seoul's seventh league title.

Elsewhere in Asia, the Chinese title race will go to the final week after leaders Chengdu Rongcheng lost 1–0 to second-placed Dalian Yingbo on Saturday. Chengdu have now lost three matches in a row when a single point would have secured their first title, and face Shandong Taishan on 8 November with another chance to get the point they need. Dalian's winner came from Mamadou Traore after Chengdu's Felipe Silva missed a penalty.

Saudi Arabia and Japan

In Saudi Arabia, Al-Hilal returned to the top of the Pro League with a 3–2 win over Al-Qadsiah on Friday, moving two points clear of a side that has played one game more. Second-half goals from Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic secured the win, while champions Al-Nassr moved up to second on goal difference after beating Al-Faisaly 3–1.

In Japan, FC Machida Zelvia stayed top on goal difference despite a 0–0 draw with Vissel Kobe. Machida and FC Tokyo, who thrashed Mito Hollyhock 6–0, are both on 27 points, one ahead of Sanfrecce Hiroshima, who won 4–0 against Shimizu S-Pulse.
