The Thomas B. Fordham Institute is recruiting a Communications and Research Intern for Spring 2027, a six-month, full-time role running January–June 2027, paid $25 per hour. Applications are due by 13 November 2026. This is the exact advertised title: it is not advertised as a generic content-writing internship, although writing is central to the work.

What the role involves

Interns write, edit and produce commentary and social media content, including authoring articles and blog posts, supporting the Education Gadfly newsletter, and drafting social media content. Applicants need a bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience, a strong interest in education policy and K–12 reform, and excellent writing and analytical skills. Prior research, education, writing, editing or social-media experience is a plus.

Location limit applicants must note

The role is primarily virtual, full-time Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and interns may live anywhere in the United States, with occasional in-person events and office days in Washington, D.C., for which travel expenses are covered. Applicants outside the US should therefore not assume eligibility. To apply, submit a brief one-page cover letter, a resume, and a writing sample under three pages that is the applicant's original work and not AI-generated, combined into a single attachment via the application link on the official Fordham Institute page.
