Huawei's nova 16s series is now available in the Philippines, with the standard model priced from PHP 29,999 and the higher-spec Pro at PHP 39,999. Huawei is pitching the range at selfie and social-video users, calling it the "King of AI Selfies" in its launch material.

The camera is the headline. The nova 16s Pro carries a 200MP main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture, alongside a 50MP periscope telephoto camera for distance shots. On the front, a 50MP portrait camera offers a selfie zoom range from 0.8x to 5x. Huawei says its front and rear True-to-Color systems use pixel-level processing to keep skin tones natural under harsh lighting, such as neon at a concert or club.

Software does much of the work. The phones ship with AI imaging tools including AI Composition, which gives framing guidance while shooting, AI Move for repositioning people in a photo, AI Remove for erasing passers-by, and AI Best Expression, which swaps in a better expression from an earlier frame if someone blinks. AppsGadget reports the series also includes a voice-activated Celia assistant and cross-platform file sharing with iPhones.

Battery life is built for long days out. A 7,000mAh battery is rated for up to 29 hours of continuous video playback, and 100W SuperCharge Turbo restores up to 40 percent in 15 minutes. The 6.84-inch 120Hz display peaks at 6,000 nits, and the Pro is 7.1mm slim with Kunlun Glass that Huawei says offers ten times the drop resistance of the previous generation.

Buyers who purchase between 30 October and 31 December receive a FreeBuds SE 2 and a gift box bundle, and Huawei is running a TikTok selfie challenge until 12 November with 50 nova 16s Pro handsets as prizes.
