Iran Sends Nuclear Proposal to US via Qatar

Iran has sent the United States a nuclear proposal via Qatar, which is to be discussed only after Washington meets Tehran's seven demands, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Thursday, 5 November. Washington is reviewing the proposal, the official added.
The contents of the proposal have not been disclosed, and no text of it has been published. Everything in this report about the proposal rests on that one anonymous senior Iranian official speaking to Reuters. There is no US confirmation of receipt.
Seven demands before any talks
The demands include lifting US sanctions, releasing frozen Iranian assets and war reparations, according to reports of the proposal. Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, said in Russia on 5 November: "On the issue of diplomacy, we have announced seven conditions to the Americans. As long as they do not execute our seven conditions, we will neither open the Strait of Hormuz nor have negotiations."
Tehran's position, as reported, is that the Strait of Hormuz stays closed and there will be no negotiations until the demands are met. The US position is that nuclear issues must be part of any initial negotiations.
No new attack ordered
Asked whether he had seen the proposal, President Donald Trump said: "They're [Iran] not doing anything without our approval… they're not going to have a nuclear weapon," Fox News reported, citing the same Reuters report.
No new US attack has been ordered and no wider war has begun. This is a separate development from an older September story about a seven-day roadmap, which should not be confused with this 5 November proposal.
