Jacksonville State beat New Mexico State 24-0 on Wednesday 28 October 2026 at Aggie Memorial Stadium, extending the Gamecocks' winning run to five games while handing the Aggies their first shutout of the season.

Creel stars as Jax State pulls away

New Mexico State's offence never got going. The Aggies drove from their own nine-yard line to the Jacksonville State 13 on their opening possession, only for the drive to stall and kicker Kyah Francone to miss a 31-yard field goal. They managed just 113 yards of total offence in the first half.

A night to forget for the home side

The first half's only touchdown came on a three-yard score by Caden Creel, capping a 12-play, 80-yard drive. Creel later broke out for a career-long 84-yard run to set up a Jalen Likely touchdown, and he found Luke Gilbert on a 24-yard screen pass for another score. Jacksonville State's defence did the rest, with defensive back Josiah Charles intercepting a pass, a fourth-down stop inside the Aggies' 20, and a forced punt late in the first half. Defensive end Brad Vislisel added a sack and a tackle for loss.

An illegal shift wiped out a New Mexico State touchdown pass, and quarterback Adam Damante threw an interception after an Aggie interception had given the home side the ball inside the Jacksonville State 25. Francone missed two field goals in all. The defeat drops New Mexico State to 3-5 overall and 2-2 in Conference USA, while Jacksonville State improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in league play.
