Japan's Kao Miura won the men's title at the Cup of China on Sunday, completing a Japanese sweep at the figure skating Grand Prix event in Shenzhen.

The 21-year-old posted a personal-best 190.35 points in the free skate for a career-best total of 293.25, building on his lead from Friday's short programme, where he scored 102.90. It was his first Grand Prix title in three years and the second Grand Prix title of his career.

Miura finished well clear of Vladislav Dikidzhi, who was second on 282.44, while Evgeni Semenenko took third with 281.62. Dikidzhi owns the world's best score this season, 312.79, from a lower-level event in October. Miura skated his "Jekyll & Hyde" free programme with two quadruple jumps in the short programme and three in the free skate, and his total was the best score of this Grand Prix season so far.

A day earlier, compatriot Mone Chiba won the women's title, completing the Japanese sweep. Miura's victory also secured him a place in December's Grand Prix Final for the first time in three years.

Miura had opened the Grand Prix season with a second-place finish at the Grand Prix de France two weeks earlier. The Cup of China is the third of six regular-season events on the Grand Prix series, which continues this week with Skate America.
