Brunson scores 38 as Knicks rally past Bulls 133-127

The New York Knicks came from 19 points down to beat the Chicago Bulls 133-127 at the United Center in Chicago on Wednesday 28 October 2026, winning the fourth quarter 43-31 to secure a second straight victory after opening the season with three defeats.
Brunson takes over late
Chicago looked in control when Norman Powell's scoring burst midway through the third quarter stretched the lead to 87-68. The Bulls still led by six at the start of the fourth, but New York opened the final period with a 10-2 run and never trailed again after Landry Shamet's three-pointer with six minutes and 26 seconds left put the visitors ahead 112-109.
Powell's 30 not enough for Chicago
Jalen Brunson led the comeback with 38 points and seven assists, his highest scoring output of the season so far, including 14 points in the fourth quarter and six three-pointers overall. Although Chicago closed to 130-127 with 46 seconds left, Brunson and OG Anunoby combined for the decisive free throws in the closing seconds. Karl-Anthony Towns added 19 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double, Anunoby scored 23, Jordan Clarkson had 18 off the bench and Shamet finished with 14. Towns and Shamet both briefly left the game in the first half with apparent wrist and ankle knocks, but both returned.
Norman Powell led Chicago with 30 points, 14 of them in the third quarter, and seven Bulls finished in double figures, including Caleb Wilson with 20 and Jalen Smith with 17 points and 11 rebounds. But the Bulls, who have now lost four of their first five games, could not hold a lead they had built for most of the night. New York has now won back to back after its winless start.
