Manchester United were thrashed 3-0 at home by Bournemouth in a Premier League Matchday 8 fixture at Old Trafford on Sunday, 25 October 2026. Goals from Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson secured a historic victory for the visitors, who took control before half-time and never let it go.

How Bournemouth won it

After a bright start from the home side, Bournemouth took the lead in the 38th minute when Rayan found the bottom corner with a fine finish from a set-piece situation. Marcus Tavernier then doubled the lead in the 43rd minute, capitalising on a defensive mistake. Evanilson found the net seconds after the restart, although that effort was ruled out for offside, and Rayan also had a good opportunity to add a third, but his shot was saved by Senne Lammens. Evanilson eventually scored the third goal with a brilliant finish in the 71st minute to complete the rout.

What it means

The result adds to a difficult run for United at home and gives Bournemouth a first Premier League win of the Rose era to move out of the bottom three, according to match reporting. Elsewhere on Sunday, Newcastle beat Crystal Palace 2-0 at Selhurst Park, Hull drew 1-1 with Brentford and Sunderland drew 0-0 with Leeds, while Liverpool had earlier beaten Brighton 2-0 at Anfield. United will now face searching questions about their home form, while Bournemouth can build on a statement win away from home.
