Metaencryptor Claims Christie Digital in Infostealer Hit

The ransomware group Metaencryptor has claimed Christie Digital Systems as a victim, in a leak-site listing reported on 7 November 2026. The claim has not been confirmed by the company, and no evidence has been published to show that a ransomware intrusion, data theft or file encryption actually happened.
Christie Digital Systems is a visual technology company whose projection and display products are used in cinemas, large events and themed entertainment. The listing was discovered at 11:43 UTC on 7 November, according to the Ransomware.live tracker.
Threat intelligence cited in the reports links the claim to infostealer malware. Hudson Rock data is said to show three compromised employees, 249 compromised users and seven third-party employee credentials, with 3,184 passwords identified — 91 rated critical — and 698 cookies, two critical. The infostealer family named is Cavalier, and the analysis found 55 points of external exposure.
The reports do not give a volume for any stolen data — the listing is said to show no data-size figure — and no ransom demand has been disclosed. The company's digital footprint is said to include services such as Apple, Atlassian and HPE GreenLake, which matters because stolen session cookies and passwords can be reused against cloud accounts long after the original infection.
The same reporting names Hyundai E&C, Proterial America, Pekin Insurance and Daeah E&C among Metaencryptor's other 7 November claims, all linked to infostealer-harvested credentials.
The pattern is familiar: infostealer infections quietly harvest logins, and ransomware groups then use those credentials as their way into corporate networks. Until Christie or independent investigators confirm the claim, it remains a claim — but organisations should still hunt for infostealer infections, rotate exposed credentials and revoke suspicious sessions.
