Ofcom Apprenticeships Open on 9 November With Applications Closing on 18 December

Ofcom will open applications for its apprenticeship programmes on Monday 9 November, giving school and college leavers a route into the UK's communications regulator. Applications close on Friday 18 December 2026, and Ofcom advises candidates to apply early and allow enough time to complete each part of the application.
What is on offer
Ofcom offers apprenticeships at levels 3 to 6, combining practical experience with study towards a qualification. The regulator fully funds the training and qualification, which is delivered by a specialist training provider. The programmes start in September each year, and roles may be available in different Ofcom locations depending on the programme.
Who can apply
Apprenticeships are open to people from all backgrounds. Applicants must be at least 18 years old when the apprenticeship starts and must have the legal right to live and work in England throughout the apprenticeship. For a September 2027 start, they will normally need to have lived in the UK since 31 August 2024, although Ofcom says exceptions may apply and candidates should check the details in its Annex A. Individual roles may have additional qualification or location requirements, so applicants should check the relevant job advert before applying.
Insight events before applying
Ofcom is running virtual insight sessions for anyone who wants to learn more about the regulator and its apprenticeship roles. The sessions run on Thursday 26 November from 4pm to 5pm and on Wednesday 2 December from 7pm to 8pm, and registration is open through the Ofcom careers site.
How to apply
Vacancies will appear on Ofcom's careers site when applications open on 9 November. Questions about the programme can go to the regulator's early careers team.
