Opposition agrees all-parties conference within 10 days after Fazl meeting

Pakistan’s opposition parties have agreed to hold an all parties conference within the next 10 days, after a meeting on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at the Islamabad home of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. It was their first joint meeting since governor’s rule and an emergency were imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on 11 October.
The Tehreek-i-Tahaffuz-i-Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) delegation was led by opposition leader in the National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai, with Senate opposition leader Allama Raja Nasir Abbas beside him. Leaders from the opposition parties discussed the political situation, their activity in parliament and the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, according to reports of the meeting.
Two committees, no date yet
The practical work was handed to two committees. One will organise the all parties conference, consulting other parties, fixing the agenda and announcing the date; its members are Salman Akram Raja, Kamran Murtaza, Mustafa Khokhar, Aamir Dogar, Nasir Shirazi and Mohammad Aslam Ghauri. The second committee will work on settling differences within the opposition’s own ranks. Announcing the plan, Abbas said the conference would be held within a week to 10 days.
That is all that has been decided so far. No date, agenda or venue for the conference has been set, and none is claimed here. The conference committee must first consult political parties before announcing the details, so readers should treat the 10-day window as a planning announcement rather than a confirmed event.
