Pakistan diesel rises to Rs402.96, petrol unchanged

Pakistan has raised the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.29 a litre to Rs402.96, while keeping petrol unchanged at Rs377.91 a litre, under revised prices in force from 31 October to 2 November 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) issued the notification on Friday, 30 October, and the Petroleum Division announced the revision the same day.
Kerosene oil stands at Rs330.96 a litre and light diesel oil at Rs275.24 a litre under the same notification. Taxes and duties embedded in the pump price come to roughly Rs114 a litre on petrol and Rs100 a litre on diesel, with a Rs5-a-litre Climate Support Levy applying to both fuels, according to reporting of the notification.
Why diesel matters more than petrol here
Diesel powers trucks, buses, tractors and farm tube-wells, so a diesel rise feeds through to freight, public transport and farming costs more directly than a petrol change. The increase follows a separate diesel rise of 85 paisa a litre announced a day earlier, which had already pushed diesel above Rs400. The latest revision keeps petrol at the same level for a third day running.
Daily pricing, for now
Pakistan moved to a daily petroleum pricing mechanism in July 2026, replacing the previous weekly system, and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said daily prices are calculated from a seven-day average of international market rates. That means the 31 October to 2 November rates are a short window, not a fortnight-long freeze: the next revision could move either fuel again. Motorists and transport operators should therefore check the current notification before assuming these prices still apply.
