Pakistan cuts petrol to Rs376.06 as diesel nears Rs400 a litre

Fuel pumps at a petrol station

Pakistan's petrol price falls to Rs376.06 a litre on Wednesday 28 October, down Rs3.19, while high-speed diesel rises Rs2.25 to Rs398.07, under the daily pricing mechanism, according to the Petroleum Division notification.

The revision reverses part of Tuesday's move, when petrol rose Rs1.54 to Rs379.25 and diesel rose Rs2.16 to Rs395.82. It is the first petrol cut since 23 October, and the fourth consecutive diesel rise, taking diesel close to Rs400 a litre.

What it means at the pump

For a 50-litre tank, the petrol change saves Rs159.50 against Tuesday's price, while a diesel fill costs Rs112.50 more. Diesel's rise matters beyond private cars: it fuels trucks, buses and farm machinery, so higher diesel tends to feed through to transport and goods costs.

Pakistan moved to daily price revisions in July 2026, so pump prices now track international benchmarks and related costs more quickly. This revision is for 28 October only, and prices can move again within days, so drivers should check the latest notification rather than assume the same price tomorrow.
