PTI Urges Supreme Court to Enforce Imran Hospital Order

** Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has asked the Supreme Court to fix an early hearing on implementing its 18 August order directing that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan be moved to hospital for treatment. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Friday that recent updates on Imran Khan's health in prison were not encouraging, and the party wants the court to act without further delay.
The 18 August order directed Adiala jail authorities to shift Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for assessment and treatment, under a medical board. The petition now before the court seeks his immediate transfer to that hospital and access for his family-appointed doctors to examine and treat him. PTI Senator Mashal Yousafzai approached the court after neither the Supreme Court nor the Federal Constitutional Court had listed the case for hearing.
Three weeks sought, case not listed
The Supreme Court resumed hearing the matter on 16 September and raised questions about the Federal Constitutional Court's order summoning the case record. Attorney General Mansoor Awan sought three weeks to examine the questions, and the court granted the request. According to the application, those three weeks expired without the case being listed again.
Health concerns and limited access
Family statements have said Imran Khan's blood pressure rose to around 190-192, fuelling urgency for independent care, but those readings have not been independently verified, and a lawyer who met him on 2 November has distanced himself from the circulating health claims. Courts have permitted limited in-person visits twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, yet PTI and relatives say practical access remains restricted. Gohar also called for an end to political tensions and demanded the immediate release of Imran Khan's sisters.
