Qatari mediators return to Tehran in US-Iran deal push

Return visit on Friday
Qatari mediators returned to Tehran on Friday 30 October as part of efforts to reach a deal between the US and Iran, an official briefed on the talks told Reuters. The talks were coordinated with the US.
What each side wants
Washington wants nuclear issues included from the start of negotiations, while Tehran demands the US first end its port blockade and lift oil-export sanctions. Iran's foreign minister said on Wednesday Tehran was still in close contact with intermediaries over its own seven-day proposal.
Second visit in a week
Qatar presented a draft peace plan on Sunday, which a senior Iranian official dismissed as unacceptable. A separate report citing IRNA says Friday's delegation was headed by a senior adviser to Qatar's prime minister and was to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments.
