ServiceNow has confirmed a fresh round of global layoffs affecting staff in the UK, the United States and India, as the software company restructures around artificial intelligence.

The company confirmed the action on 5 November 2026 but declined to say how many roles are being cut. "We are making necessary changes to how we are structured," ServiceNow said. "We are driving efficiencies across the business, actively investing in and hiring for AI-focused skills, and managing headcount with discipline to end 2026 where we started, as we shared earlier this year."

Investing.com has reported that the plan covers up to 1,000 jobs — about 3% of the company's global workforce — citing people familiar with the plan. That figure has not been confirmed by the company.

It is the third round of cuts at ServiceNow this year, after a restructuring in June and a second round in late July affecting hundreds of employees. The company began 2026 with about 29,000 employees and now employs about 30,000 after hiring and three acquisitions, aiming to finish the year at its starting headcount.

The company's own filings show the scale: ServiceNow recorded $87 million in employee severance and related costs in the third quarter of 2026 and $167 million in the first nine months, against $24 million and $53 million a year earlier. The filing describes a programme to optimise the workforce "through AI-driven efficiencies and investment in talent in key strategic areas", expected to be substantially completed in 2026.

The cuts come as ServiceNow's shares have fallen more than 30% this year, including a 35% drop between 23 October and 5 November, after fourth-quarter subscription-revenue guidance came in below analysts' expectations. State filings in California confirm reductions at two offices there, taking effect over the coming weeks.
