Sindhu and Lakshya Sen Win HYLO Open Singles Titles

Indian badminton enjoyed a double success at the HYLO Open in Saarbrücken, Germany, on 1 November, as P. V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen won the women's and men's singles titles at the same tournament.
Sindhu beat Denmark's Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the women's final, a straight-games win completed in 39 minutes. The BWF World Tour report describes it as her first title since the Japan Open and her third final of the year, following a runner-up finish at the French Open the previous week.
Sen ends his wait for a title
Lakshya Sen then beat Indonesia's Jonatan Christie 21-17, 21-10 in the men's final. The BWF report notes that Sen had fallen in the first round of his previous six tournaments and that his last final had come at the All England in March. The HYLO Open win was his first title of 2026 and his first since the Australian Open last November.
Sen was largely in control against Christie, apart from a brief spell in the opening game when a lead of 18-10 was almost lost. He recovered in time, then was not seriously threatened in the second game as he closed out the match.
A shared day for Indian badminton
The two victories together gave India both singles crowns at the event in Saarbrücken. MyKhel's sports bulletin for 2 November records the same two results and the same scores, providing a second source for both finals.
For Sindhu, the win continues a strong late-season run. For Sen, it marks a turnaround after a difficult stretch of early exits. Both players will now carry that form into the closing stretch of the badminton season. Sources: BWF World Tour and MyKhel sports bulletin, 2 November.
