** Bitcoin treasury company Strive reported net income of $509 million for the third quarter of 2026, a sharp turnaround from a net loss of about $207 million in the same period last year. The Nasdaq-listed company announced the results on 6 November in an SEC filing. Almost all of the profit came from the Bitcoin on its balance sheet rather than from running a business: the company recorded about $534 million in unrealised gains on its digital assets, while revenue for the quarter was just $2.7 million.

Paper gains, not operating profit

Revenue rose 74.7 percent year on year to $2.696 million, mainly from advisory fees and medical device sales. Strip out the investment gains and the quarter was a $36 million operating loss, with $533.7 million of unrealised Bitcoin gains doing most of the work. Net income attributable to common stockholders was about $474.8 million after $34.2 million in preferred dividends, or $5.24 per share on a fully diluted basis.

Buying through the slide

Strive bought 8,136 Bitcoin during the quarter at an average price of $78,885, taking its holdings to 28,000 coins worth about $2.34 billion at 30 September. It then bought another 15,124 Bitcoin between 1 and 30 October at an average of $83,310 including fees, lifting the treasury to 43,124 coins. That October buying is already under water: Bitcoin traded near $76,000 on 7 November, well below the average price Strive paid.
