Nigerians in the United Kingdom have been given more time to use a special passport service, after the Nigeria Immigration Service extended its intervention exercise in the country. The extension was announced in a public notice dated 27 October 2026, signed by the Service's Public Relations Officer, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration Akinsola Akinlabi, and approved in line with a directive from the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The Service linked the extension to sustained demand for passport services.

The previous phase of the exercise had been scheduled to end on 30 October. Under the new arrangement, the next phase runs from Tuesday 3 November to Friday 27 November 2026 in London and Manchester, while Aberdeen and Cardiff have a shorter window.

Where and when the sessions run

London sessions will be held at 56–57 Fleet Street, Temple, London EC4Y 1JU, from 3 to 27 November. Manchester sessions will be held at Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester M14 5NE, over the same dates. In Aberdeen, the venue is the Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road, Aberdeen AB24 4NR, from 3 to 6 November. In Cardiff, the venue is the Western Leisure Centre, Ely, Cardiff CF5 5HJ, also from 3 to 6 November.

Applicants are asked to book through the passport intervention booking portal or the Nigeria High Commission's website, and to keep strictly to their assigned dates and times. Reports of the notice say only applicants with confirmed intervention appointments will be attended to, and that cash payments will not be accepted at the centres. People who prefer not to attend in person have also been pointed to the upgraded contactless passport renewal system as an alternative route for eligible renewals.

Anyone planning to attend should check the official Nigeria Immigration Service and Nigeria High Commission pages first, as venues, dates and booking instructions can change.
