UK visa rules: next changes due 29 October and 30 November

The next stages of the UK's autumn immigration rule changes are due on 29 October and 30 November, following the main package that took effect on 8 October. The changes come from the Statement of Changes HC 584, published by the Home Office on 3 September 2026, and they affect a wide range of routes rather than a single visa category.
The 29 October stage covers the Minister of Religion and Religious Worker routes. The 30 November stage raises the monthly maintenance amounts students must show: from £1,529 to £1,570 for study in London, and from £1,171 to £1,203 for study outside London, according to law-firm summaries of the statement.
What the October package already changed
The 8 October changes included Skilled Worker, visitor, Student, family and EU Settlement Scheme provisions, as well as changes for Hong Kong BN(O) applicants and victims of domestic abuse. One widely reported Skilled Worker change allows workers formally identified as victims of modern slavery to work for any employer for the rest of their current permission, rather than remaining tied to their sponsor.
Fee-waiver rules also changed on 8 October. The date of a fee-waiver request now counts as the application date only if the application that follows is for the same route named in the request and is sent within 10 working days of the fee-waiver decision, or paid for before the decision arrives.
