Yemen Urges Lebanon to Halt Hezbollah Aid to Houthis

Yemen has called on Lebanon to take coordinated, decisive measures to halt Hezbollah's alleged military support for the Houthi movement, in a fresh diplomatic push between the two governments.
In a post on X, Yemen's Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zouba welcomed Lebanon's official stance upholding Yemen's territorial integrity, and said bilateral cooperation was now critical to dismantling the logistical and operational support the Iran-aligned Lebanese group is accused of giving Houthi fighters.
"We affirm the importance of building on this position through coordination between the relevant authorities in our two countries to follow up on our government's announcement regarding the role of Hezbollah members in supporting the military operations of the terrorist Houthi militia, and to take joint measures to halt this support and prevent its recurrence," she said.
The internationally recognised government of Yemen has repeatedly accused Hezbollah and its Iranian backers of providing ballistic missile expertise, combat drone training and operational leadership to Houthi forces. On 3 November, Yemeni Interior Minister Ibrahim Ali Haidan accused Hezbollah and Iran's Revolutionary Guard of sending military instructors to command Houthi combat operations and develop missile and drone programmes.
Hezbollah has denied the claims. In a statement on Wednesday, the group called the Yemeni authorities' allegations "completely baseless" and said the Yemeni people had sufficient capabilities to defend their country without external support.
Al-Zouba's statement followed a meeting on 4 November between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam, after which Salam warned against dragging Lebanon into external military conflicts and said decisions on war must remain solely with the state.
