Allianz Shares Fall Before 12 November Results Test

Allianz shares fell 2.7 per cent on Friday, caught in a broad retreat across European insurance, as investors look ahead to the group's third-quarter results on Thursday 12 November. The European insurance sector slid 2.6 per cent on the day, according to Reuters figures cited in reports on 8 November.
The Munich-based group will publish its third-quarter 2026 results at 07:00 CET on 12 November, followed by a media call at 09:30 and an analyst conference at 14:30. The release is the next concrete checkpoint for a stock that has been moving on sector sentiment rather than its own numbers.
Analysts expect operating profit in the property-casualty segment to reach 2.11 billion euros for the quarter, down roughly 12 per cent from a year earlier. The combined ratio, which measures claims and costs against premium income, is expected at 93.8 per cent, up from 91.4 per cent in the first half.
Pressure came from several directions on Friday. JPMorgan downgraded Hannover Rück from Neutral to Underweight and Münchener Rück from Overweight to Neutral, and flagged falling prices and margins in reinsurance. A sell-off in artificial intelligence and semiconductor shares also weighed on German equities.
The comparison base is demanding. In the first half of 2026 Allianz lifted operating profit by 8.6 per cent to 9.39 billion euros, its Solvency II ratio stood at 225 per cent at 30 June, and management's full-year operating target is 17.4 billion euros, within one billion euros either side. Asset management is the counterweight to watch: its second-quarter result rose 19.8 per cent to 933 million euros.
